Training 2010

The full training diary for the year has yet to be confirmed. However, the next training day will be :-

Satuday 20th March - Ogof Ffynnon Ddu 1 1/2

This is the first formal cave rescue practice of 2010. We're aiming to include a broad range of skills & training in the day, including simple stretcher carrying, vertical elements, use of the floating stretcher down the streamway, narrow/confined elements, 1st aid, communications etc.... There is enough to keep cavers of all abilities & experience levels occupied so please, please, please get involved.

WBCRT Cave Rescue Training Programme 2009

Saturday 21^st March	Penwyllt	Technical Skills Training A number of Cave Rescue Skills sessions will be running, giving team members the opportunity to learn a number of different skills in one day. Aimed at both new Team Members learning for the first time and existing team members wanting a refresher.
Saturday 11^th July	LNRC & Bridge Cave	Cave Rescue Scenarios Previously called off due to flooding, we will have 3 objectives for the day: to move a casualty through the entrance series of LNRC, to bring a casualty out of Bridge Cave and to work with Cave Rescue Divers undertaking a scenario through the sump between the 2 caves.
Saturday 10^th October	Llangattock Caves	Cave Rescue Skills Training in cave rescue skills and undertaking rescue scenarios in the more accessible Llangattock Caves. This event replaces the previously advertised practice at OFD 1 1/2 due to the need to build an effective cave rescue provision for the Gwent area following the recent change in WBCRT's area of operation.
Saturday 12^th December	Gower Caves	Cave Rescue Previously called off due to flooding, a rescue scenario in one of the Gower Caves – such as Tooth Cave or Llethrid Swallet.
Saturday 20^th February 2010	SWSARA Joint Practice	Joint Practice The annual rescue practice with South Wales Search and Rescue Association, working closely with the South Wales Mountain Rescue Teams.

In addition we can arrange smaller scale practise sessions for small groups or individuals. We can arrange training in kit familiarisation, communications, control protocols etc.

Black Mountain Caves

Search and Rescue
We will be undertaking an exercise searching some of the caves on Black Mountain including caves in the vicinity of Sinc Y Giedd.

19^th July Mid Wales Mine Practice
Mines Rescue Practice
Every second year we practice in one of the Mines in Mid Wales. We cover hundreds of sites in the Mid Wales area and this an important aspect of the service we provide.

4^th October SWSARA Joint Practice
Joint Practice
The annual rescue practice with South Wales Search and Rescue Association, working closely with the South Wales Mountain Rescue Teams.

1^st November OFD 1½
Cave Diver Search
A search in OFD 1 ½ using search patterns for a missing Cave Diver. The practice will be a combination of Diver activity and Cavers searching the many places in OFD 1 ½ where a Cave Diver can surface.

17^th January 2009 Gower Caves
Cave Rescue
A rescue scenario in one of the Gower Caves – such as Tooth Cave or Llethrid Swallet.
