WBCRT Cave Rescue Training Programme 2008

17th May	Black Mountain Caves	Search and Rescue We will be undertaking an exercise searching some of the caves on Black Mountain including caves in the vicinity of Sinc Y Giedd.
19^th July	Mid Wales Mine Practice	Mines Rescue Practice Every second year we practice in one of the Mines in Mid Wales. We cover hundreds of sites in the Mid Wales area and this an important aspect of the service we provide.
4^th October	SWSARA Joint Practice	Joint Practice The annual rescue practice with South Wales Search and Rescue Association, working closely with the South Wales Mountain Rescue Teams.
1^st November	OFD 1½	Cave Diver Search A search in OFD 1 ½ using search patterns for a missing Cave Diver. The practice will be a combination of Diver activity and Cavers searching the many places in OFD 1 ½ where a Cave Diver can surface.
17^th January 2009	Gower Caves	Cave Rescue A rescue scenario in one of the Gower Caves – such as Tooth Cave or Llethrid Swallet.

In addition we can arrange smaller scale practise sessions for small groups or individuals. We can arrange training in kit familiarisation, communications, control protocols etc.

There will be further training for 2008, with evening skills training planned and also training is being planned for specific team roles.

WBCRT Cave Rescue Training Programme 2007

25th February SWSARA Joint Practice Joint practice SWSARA. To be hosted by Central Beacons MRT, this is the annual joint rescue practice for South Wales Cave and Mountain Rescue Teams. Meet at Penwyllt at 9.00am.

31st March OFD 1 Waterfall Series. Cave Rescue scenario in Waterfall Series in OFD 1. Meet at Penwyllt at 9.30am.

7th July LNRC & Bridge Cave Little Neath River Cave and Bridge Cave. We will have 3 objectives for the day: to move a casualty through the entrance series of LNRC, to bring a casualty out of Bridge Cave and to work with Cave Rescue Divers undertaking a scenario through the sump between the 2 caves.

1st September Tunnel Cave Tunnel Cave. Cave Rescue Scenario bringing a casualty down through the cave to the show cave.

8th September Wet Sink A practice with Gloucester CRG. Details of the day are still to be agreed, though the venue will be Wet Sink (Slaughter Stream Cave)

3rd November Pant Mawr Pot Pant Mawr Pot. A carry and haul practice at this well known hole on Pant Mawr moor. Meet at Penwyllt at 9.00am and bring your SRT kit.

12th January OFD 2 A full practice in Creek Alley. Major Practice in Creek Alley in OFD 2.

WBCRT Cave Rescue Training Programme 2006

4th March Miss Graces Lane, Forest of Dean Joint practice with Gloucester Cave Rescue Group. Aimed at familiarising Rescuers with the cave and trialling stretchers on new routes.

3rd June Dan-yr-Ogof 2 scenarios in Dan-yr-Ogof. Two practices to choose from on the day, carrying on from where we left off last year.

24th June Mid Wales Mines We practice in Mid Wales once every 2 years. Venue still to be decided for 2006, but it won't be Cwmystwyth this time.

26th August Surface Training We will be having a WBCRT Party at Penwyllt on the evening of Saturday 26th August. During the day, we will be setting up surface training for a number of different areas of Cave Rescue.

30th September Agen Allwedd A Joint practice with Gwent CRT. Details of the practice are still to be confirmed with GCRT.

2nd December Llygad Llwchwr A full practice moving a casualty from one of the river chambers and exiting the cave.
